Hello and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web. I’m Lindara and I’m on a mission to experience our country’s most famous natural wonders — one national park at a time. I have a goal of visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks by the time I turn sixty-three years old. Spoiler alert…I’m running out of time. This bucket-list item was set when I turned fifty and had only been to seven national parks. That leaves 56 more in just 13 years!
Objectively speaking, there are obvious reasons for this goal. Our national parks are spectacular places of unparalleled uniqueness where many people find inspiration and rejuvenation. They are also places to test your limits and push you further as a human being. These limits are different for each of us. Personally, I will not be BASE jumping off New River Gorge Bridge or climbing to the top of Half Dome, but with each trip I will find at least one way to challenge a boundary or get uncomfortable. For middle-aged me, it’s not about the extreme, but about embracing the unfamiliar and finding growth in the process.
So…here I go. I would love for you to join me on my journey of exploration and I hope we can inspire each other to find the beauty of nature and the joy of discovery.
